This dinosaur toy combines robotics, high technology software and reptilian skin for the creation of a lifelike appearance and behavior you only once watched though movies and the television. Like any dinosaur, D Rex Interactive Dinosaur is ultra fierce and offers heightened fun. He is suitable for kids 8 years old and up as its package includes a small ball. The skin of the Mattel D-Rex Interactive Dino 2009 is loosely stretched so he could move freely. At first, he might look really scary. He has oversized feet, spiked collar and sharp teeth. But you would be pleased to know that despite his scaly skin look, it actually feels soft to the touch. What makes him more realistic looking and feeling is that you could ‘feed’ him. Some of the time your kid is playing with him, he would appear to be hungry. You can stick anything in his mouth and see him ‘eat’ it away.

This reptilian toy comes in dimensions of 6.5 x 22.5 x 14 inches, and weighs 8.5 pounds. Five C batteries are required to operate this exceptional toy. You would need a Phillips screwdriver to insert the batteries in his tail. Two AAA batteries are needed for the bone-shaped controller. Plus he has the sleep mode that saves up battery life.

This controller lets your kid be in charge of five different types of behavior. Press ‘attack’ and he would walk forward while roaring. He also has the funny side with the ‘prank’ function. Press this and he would fart, burp or roar. In the ‘seek’ mode, he would use his sound sensor to detect where the noise is coming from and go towards it. The next one is the ‘guard’ function. Your child could set this Tyrannosaurus Rex toy for example, in front of his favorite toys. He would scan the room and let out a big dinosaur roar when he senses ‘intruders’. And the ‘question’ mode makes a really interesting pet. When you press this button, he would answer your question by nodding “Yes” or shaking his “No.”

But despite all these controlled modes, he would sometimes not respond to every command, making him more realistic. Now you see that this Dino pet is really an independent toy pet that brings out the fun in everything.
